Vancouver birth stories are brought to you by Birth Photographer and Doula; Morag Hastings of Apple Blossom Families.

At the height of Morag’s career she photographed between 40-50 births a year in Vancouver, BC Canada. On this page we have a collection of over 200 birth stories located in the Lower Mainland. Morag Hastings is an experienced doula, Hypno-doula trained, and personally experienced in childbirth. In the summer of 2012, she participated in the Birthing from Within Mentor and Doula workshop. After completing the 18 hour Breastfeeding course and a Rebozo technique workshop in 2013 Morag has continued to educate herself with all things birth. In 2014 Morag co-created the first and only home birth specific childbirth classes in Vancouver, BC. Morag believes in always expanding and learning as much as she can about birth so I can bring all kinds of methods and theories when assisting her clients with their births.

Morag also offers her services as a birth photographer to give families a visual birth story to look back on after their child is born. In 2000 Morag graduated from Langara College Professional Photography Program. In 2012 she co-created the Canadian Birth Photographers Directory  to help people from all over Canada find birth photographers. Morag has continued to mentor many photographers all around the world. Morag’s images have been featured in many top magazines and websites including Elle, Cosmopolitan, Self, Redbook, The Independent, BBC, huffingpost.com, Today’s Parent, TED Talks and the Midwives Association of BC’s 2014 New Vision for Midwifery and Maternity Care public campaign. Morag’s iconic birth image won the Best in Labour category in the 2016 International Birth Photography Contest and was voted one of Vancouver’s top Family Photographers on Vancouvermom.ca.
