10 lbs Vancouver Home Birth | Birth Photographer

It is a pretty big honour to be invited to a fellow birth workers birth, especially when the mom is a fellow Vancouver birth photographer!

After being on vacation for the summer coming home to attend M’s birth was wonderful. It was so nice to witness a family centered home birth. M’s waves started early in the morning and continued throughout the day. It was different and unexpected because her other births were very fast. When her son was born, he was chubby as can be, we all knew that is what was taking so long. He was born weighing 10 lbs which is a few pounds more then her other two babies. His big sisters wanted a ‘chubby boy’ and that is what they got.

Welcome to the world little guy.

Instead of cutting the cord we did a slow cord burning ceremony. It takes about 10 minutes, it is a nice way to slowly separate mom and baby and have everyone in the family included.
